The States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) constituted by the Central Government of India on 22 December 1953 to recommend the reorganisation of state boundaries.

It was also appointed in order to prevent the conflicts on basis of religious reasons so it was recommended to divide them on the basis of language and the commission was appointed.
