• Korean War:         As the war lasted for 3 years the human cost was enormous, but the Korean people gained nothing from the government.

• Arab-Israeli War:  As France was given the mandate for Syria and Lebanon, Britain for Iraq, Palestine and Jordan. This arrangement upset the Arabs since they had expected independence at the end of World War I.

• Vietnam War:      After the incendiary bombs such as napalm and agent orange were used. Vast areas of Vietnam were devastated and hundreds of thousands of people were killed.
