the main causes and reasons for the French revolution are as follows:-

the rumours were spread that the the king will order his army to open fire upon citizens.

high taxes were imposed on the third estate like bread which was the staple diet of majority of the people

the burden of financing activities of the state through taxes was borne by the third estate alone

these were some of the reasons that started the French revolution which led to many important things.

for example the books likes two treatises of government by John Locke, the spirit of law by montesquieu and the social contract by by Jean Jacques Rousseau and many things.
