The research revealed that in the national literacy project assessments, 80.4% of home educated children were at the same level in their studies as the top 16% of school educated children.

Paula Rothermel, the author of the report, said there are prejudices about families who choose not to send their children to schools. "The main disadvantage seemed to be other people's opinions.
