(1) Electric Flux→

The electric flux through a given surface area is the total number of electric lines of force passing normally through that area. It is given by:

\phi\:E=\int\:E. ds

Its SI unit is Nm² C¯¹

(2)Gauss's Law→

It state the total electric flux over the closed surface S in vacuum is 1/€° times the total charge (q) content inside S.

Given by

\phi\:E=\int\:E. ds=\frac{q}{\varepsilon°}

(3)Electric Potential →

 The electric potential is the amount of work done to move a unit positive charge from infinte to the given point.

(4)Characteristics of Electric Fields→

  • electric field lines are always perpendicular to the conductor
  • no two field lines intersect each others
  • electric field lines are always radially outward for a positive charge and radially inwards for negative charge
