[[Density = mass /volume]]

Options are Air, exhaust from chimneys , honey, water, chalk, cotton and iron

°°What should be on 1st position
Air = air are the free particles with no mixture.

°°What should be on 2nd position
Exhaust of chimneys= Because it have some mixture . so it has less density.

°°what should be on 3rd
Cotton = Because this is a solid.

°°what should be on 4th position
water

°°what should be on 5th position
honey

°°what should be on 6th position
Chalk

°°what should be on 7th position
Iron

In there increasing order ..

We represent them like this.

Air

exhaust from chimneys

cotton

water

honey

chalk

Iron

We know that :

Density = mass / volume

This is easily predictable that :

⇒ Density is directly proportional to the mass

⇒ Density is inversely proportional to volume

Thus we can conclude that :

Density will be lowest for the highest volume !

Start with the options !

Which one has the highest volume ?

Rather arrange the options in decreasing volume .

Air ....

Then comes exhaust from chimneys.

Water comes next .....

Then honey.

Then cotton as it is a solid.

The least volume will be iron.

Note that these above comparisons are valid only if all the options have EQUAL MASS .

Now arrange the options with increasing density :

➡ AIR

➡ Exhaust fumes from chimneys

➡ Water

➡ Honey

➡ Cotton

➡ IRON

Thanks !
