Explanation:

The muscles of the small intestine mix food with digestive juices from the pancreas, liver, and intestine, and push the mixture forward for further digestion. The walls of the small intestine absorb water and the digested nutrients into your bloodstream.

ABSORPTION:

》It is the process by which the end products of digested food are drained into the blood or lymph.

》In mouth, certain drugs are absorbed into the blood capillaries lining them.

》In stomach, water, sugars are absorbed.

》Main absorption site is the Large Intestine. Glucose, amino acids are absorbed via simple diffusion.

》The main problem is that fatty acids and glycerol are insoluble and thus cannot be absorbed into the lymph or blood. So, they are first converted into micelles which are then re-formed into chylomicrons which are then transported into lymph. From here, the absorbed substances are released into the blood.

This is how absorption of digested food takes place from Gut and other organs into the Body Fluids.
