Bracket means the number x outside it has to be multiplied with the numbers say a and b inside the bracket so, x×(a+b)= xa+xb

so 2(x+3)= 2x+6

ATQ:

2x+6=8

2x+6-6=8-6 (-6 on both sides)

2x=2

2x/2=2/2 (divide by 2 on both sides)

x=1

verify

2(1+3)

=2×1+2×3

=2+6

=8
