When a body is immersed whether it is fully immersed or floating ,an upward buoyant force acts on it which is equal to weight of displaced liquid
Buoyant force = Volume immersed in liquid ×density of liquid × g
Because density of liquid = mass of liquid /volume of liquid
As density would be constant for displaced liquid
let V be volume displaced
So d = m/V
m = dv
And we know weight = mg
So weight = dvg
which is volume immersed × density × g
as aforementioned
So its just weight of displaced liquid
