Ganga action plan has been emerged national river conservation plan
now it covers 152 towns located along 27 intreares rivers in 16 states
sewage flowing into rivers is to be diverted to other location for treatment and conversion into energy source
step have been taken to supply safe drinking water by constructing electric cremantoriez and seprate bathing ghats
diverging of rain water converging into the main water has been completed in cities like varanasi rotna lanpur the pollution level has been decreased
