HEYA!!
HERE'S YOUR ANSWER
___________________________

A thermistor is a resistance thermometer, or a resistor whose resistance depends upon temperature.

It is a combination of two different words:

'Thermal' meaning heat dependent

'Resistor' meaning possessing resistance.

================

There are two types of thermistors :-

1) Negative Temperature Coefficient Thermistor(NTC) - Resistance decreases in case of increase in temperature.

2)Positive Temperature Coefficient Thermistor(PTC) - Resistance increases in case of increase in temperature.

================
Symbols for a Thermistor are given in the attached file.

Answer:

A thermistor is a type of resistor whose resistance is strongly dependent on temperature, more so than in standard resistors. The word is a combination of thermal and resistor.
