Hii frnds.

GUD MORNING TO ALL.

HERE IS YOUR QUESTION.

WHAT IS OSMOSIS.

AhmedJasem: 1.

BIOLOGYCHEMISTRY

a process by which molecules of a solvent tend to pass through a semipermeable membrane from a less concentrated solution into a more concentrated one.

2.

the process of gradual or unconscious assimilation of ideas, knowledge, etc.

"by some strange political osmosis, private reputations became public"

Hey mate

▶️Osmosis :-

It is a movement of water molecules through a selectively permeable membrane from a region with a lot of water molecules .
Example:- a concentrated solution .

Or...
▶️it is a special case of diffusion, it is a net movements of water across a selectively permeable membrane from a high concentration to a low concentration.

▶️Osmosis is a case of diffusion.

▶️it is a process used by a cell to exchange water with their environment.

▶️It is a passive process becoz it does not require outside to start the process .

✔Passive processes :-

▶️substance across cell membrane without the input of any energy.

✔What is selectively permeable membrane?

▶️The membrane allow only molecules of a certain size to diffuse through it , so, it called selectively permeable.

Dear:) hope its helps
