Yes plants with variegated leaves conduct photosynthesis. But this is possible in places only where chlorophyll is present.

phtosynthesis can occur only in the presence of chlorophyll. some plants have variegated leaves with patterns of white and green. but only green parts of the plant can perform photosynthesis because the white parts has no chlorophyll.
