1. for figure ( a )
circumference = pie × r
where r = 2.8 / 2 = 1.4 cm
circumference is 3.14 × 1.4
= 4.396 cm

2. in this figure ( b )
the ant have to cover
2b + l + [ ( pie × r ) - 2r ]
= (2× 1.5 ) + 2.8 + ( 4.396 - 2.8 )
= 3 + 2.8 + 1.596
= 7.396 cm

3. in this figure ( c )
the ant have to cover =
[ (pie × r ) - 2r ] + 2 + 2
= ( 4.396 - 2.8 ) + 4
= 1.596 + 4
= 5.596 cm
the ant will take longer round for food piece in the 2nd figure ( b )

Answer is

Diameter of semicircle is = 2.8 m
Radius is D/2
= 2.8/2
= 1.4 m

Now IN figure (a)

Circumference is πr+D
 = \frac{22}{7} \times 1.4 + 2.8 \\ = 4.4 + 2.8 \\ = 7.2 \: m
In figure (b)

Perimeter of the figure is πr+ (1.5×2)+2.8
 = \frac{22}{7} \times 1.4 +( 1.5 \times 2) + 2.8 \\ = 4.4 + 3.0 + 2.8 \\ = 10.2 \: m
In figure (c)

Perimeter of the figure is πr+ 2+2
 = \frac{22}{7} \times 1.4 + 2 + 2 \\ = 4.4 + 2 + 2 \\ = 8.4 \: m
Therefore

Ant take longer distance for food in figure (b)
which is 10.2 m
