Hi ,
In a rectangle opposite sides are
equal.
x + y = 30 ---( 1 )
x - y = 14 -----( 2 )
Add ( 1 ) and ( 2 ) ,
2x = 44
x = 22
Put x = 22 in equation ( 1 ) , we get
22 + y = 30
y = 30 - 22
y = 8
Therefore ,
x = 22 , y = 8
