During the British colonial rule , transport and communication in India developed as British looked after lndia only for raw materials For this they needed some kind of communication. So ,the Lord Dalhousie as civil engineer developed first railway line from Bombay to Thane . Even after railway lines broadened to 150 miles .And he also reconstructed the Grant Trunk Road . He also introduced telegraph system.
This led to the concept of development of transportation and communication in lndia .
