Anonymous: but its only told half the space
Anonymous: the next half is air filled
Anonymous: so theres not a condition of dividing it in 3
QGP: Yes you can divide it into 3. One-fourth filled with air, one-half filled with dielectric, another one-fourth filled with air
Gautam22121998: yes but that half is in the middle therefore leaving quarters both sides
Anonymous: yaa but we can consider that half not putting in the middle
Anonymous: and just taking it as continuous
QGP: Anyways. We have got the answer
Anonymous: okay thanks for the two answers ...thanks a lot
Gautam22121998: but in the figure of the question it is shown so

QGP: In the image of your question, dielectric K covers half capacitor, with complete "d" and half area (i.e. A/2) . This is the case of parallel. If half capacitor was covered with K in such a way that K covered complete A and half d (i.e d/2) then it would have been the case of series
QGP: Don't depend on any formulas here. Go by concept that C = EA/d , and when K is there, C = KEA/d
Anonymous: its actually d/2
QGP: Memorising formulas is difficult and many a times leads to erros
Anonymous: not A/2
Anonymous: my problem is not about the formula
QGP: Let me explain your doubt. I understood your question:
Anonymous: im saying u go and refer the ques again ..its d/2...so we wont use series equivalent formula for getting the ans?
QGP: I'm explaining why I used Parallel. Wait:
Anonymous: ok wait a min
