ANSWER....

Calculation of number of moles in 0.051 gram of Al2O3.

Molecular mass of Al2O3 =

2 × Atomic mass of Al+3*Atomic mass of O

= (2 × 27g) + (3 × 16g)

= 102 gram

Now,

102 g of Al2O3 = 1 mol

∴0.051 g of Al2O3 = (0.051g/102g) × (1 mol)

= 0.0005 mol.

Now, calculation of no. of Aluminium ions in 0.001 mole of Al2O3.

1 mole of Al2O3 contain Al atoms =

2 × Avogadro number

0.0005 mole of Al2O3 contain Al atoms =

2 × 0.0005 × Avogadro number

= 2 × 0.0005 × 6.022 × 10²³

= 6.022 × 10^{20} atoms

In AL2O3 , valency of Al = 3+

Therefore, number of aluminium ions = 6.022 × 10^20 ions..
