Answer:

ANS.1:- a round object with a map of the world on it.

ANS.2:- a drawing or plan of (part of) the surface of the earth that shows countries, rivers, mountains, roads, etc.

ANS.3:- the art or process of drawing or making maps.

ANS.4:- a book of maps.

ANS.5:- Scale refers to how much smaller the map is than the actual earth area of the earth surface that is represented. ... Use a ruler to measure the distance on the map accurately in centimetres. Convert the distance to km or m, depending on what is required.

ANS.6:-A map scale is the map distance ratio that corresponds to the actual ground distance. The scale on the map presents a distance measurement between each landmark. As an example on a 1: 1000000 cm scale map shows that 1 centimeter is equal to 1 kilometer on the ground...

what is Globe?

  • A Globe is a small, three dimensional model of the Earth. it is a small but of the same shape as the earth like a ball or a sphere, slightly flattened at the poles. A globe shows the exact shape of the earth, directions, relative sizes and shapes of ocean, continents , islands and seas. It also shows the correct location of different places and features in the relation to one another .The Globes are useful in understanding how days and nights are caused and how we have different seasons.

what is Map?

  • A Map is the best representation of the Earth's surface or a part of a drawn on a flat surface according to scale.

what is Cartography?

  • cartography is a science of map making. In this technique ,various types of information is depicted on a two-dimensional piece of paper.

what is Atlas?

  • A book of maps is called an Atlas. beside maps, an Atlas may have information and diagrams related to geographical features and population data.
  • The greatest map makers of the ancient world were the Greeks . In the 2nd century A.D ., the Alexandrian claudius Ptolemy, a Greek astronomer published his famous written on astronomy and geography. his ideas about map making were lost Europe for many years, although, his books were translated in 9th century, then his work was discovered in the 15th century.

what is scale and distance?

  • The earth is so that it is not possible to show the actual size of even a small part of it on the map .therefore, in all maps, therefore ,the size of the area to be shown has to be reduced .therefore , a scale is used while drawing map.this means that all the distances which you can measure on your map must have a consistent relation ship to the actual distances on the ground. the scale can be expressed in three ways:
  1. Graphic or Linear scale
  2. Representative Fraction
  3. Statement of Scale

Graphic or Linear scale: The line divided into the units , each unit represents the real distance on the ground in kilometres.

Representative Fraction: the scale is the relationship between a unit of measure on a map and the unit of measure on the earth. A scale is something like that 1/10000000, also written as 1:10000000. this is known as representative fraction.

Statement of Scale: It means that 1 cm on the map is 100 km on the ground.

Thanks :)
