HELLO!!

Your answer is below:-

The distance between stars are expressed in light years because they were very far from each other that it can not be measure in units such as kilometers, meters etc.

Because if we try to express the distance between stars then we have to put millions of

zeroes after the number.

For example-

For example- 3600000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 00.........km.

And this looks quite weird that's why distance between stars is measure by light year.

One light year means the distance travelled by light in vaccum in one year.

The statement that the star is 8 light years away from the Earth means that the distance between the earth and the star is equal to the distance, travelled by light in 8 years.

So you can imagine how far it is from earth as speed of light is very fast.

Hope it will help you if it helps then plz mark my answer as BRAINLIEST. And remember to always keep a smile on face:)

Answer:

The distance between the stars is so large that Kilometers becomes a very small unit. Hence, the distance between stars and planets are expressed in light years . One Light Year means Distance travelled by light in 1 Year.

A star is located eight light years away from the Earth. This means that the distance between the star and the Earth is equivalent to the distance travelled by light in eight years. So the distance between the earth and star = 8x (9.46 x 1012) =7.6 x 1013 km.

plz mark it as brainlist ...☺☺

bye..

Good night..
