first some rules:

1-law of transposition:any term can be transferred to the other side by changing its sign.

e.g:

5x-10=2

can be written as

5x=12

here we did an operation called addition of 10 on both sides which in other words can be said to as subtracting -10 on both sides.

2-rule of cross multiplication: if the equation is in form of

(ax+b) /(c+d)=f

then it can be written as

ax+b=f(c+d)

remember we can do this when the all the term of the either side does not have a common denominator.

3-with the above mentioned rules, simplify the linear equation.
