Draw  a  tangent  from point  P, :- AP and  BP

Given, (as shown in figure,)

OA = OB = 5 cm   (radius  of  circle)

OP =  10 cm  (given)

In right angle triangle APO, (∠OAP = 90°)

OP² =  AP²  +AO²

10² = AP² + 5²

100 =  AP² + 25

AP² = 100 - 25

AP² = 75 cm

AP = √75

AP =  5√3 cm
