Volume outside water=1/3

Therefore volume inside water=2/3

As the object floats,

Weight of the object=Upthrust

mass of object×g= 2/3volume of object×density of water ×g --(I)

(As mass =density ×volume)

--(ii)

From (I) and (ii)

volume of object ×density of object×g=2/3volume of object ×density of water ×g

=>density of object= 2/3 ×density of water

=>density of object/density of water=2/3

(Density of object/density of water=relative density)

Relative density=2/3

= 0.666666......

=0.67 approx
