when two objects are rubbed ,there is a transfer of electrons from one material to theother material. This causes 1 object become positively charged (the electron loser) and the other object to become negatively charged (the electron gainer).
If the two bodies carry opposite charges then on being the charges will be neutralized if they equal in magnitude.
If these opposite charges are unequal in magnitude then the lesser one will be neutralized and the net difference of charge will be distributedon both the bodies so that the electric potential remains the same for both of them.
If both the charges are same then upon touching the charges will be distributed as follows. (Q+q)/2
