Himalaya is the natural wall which protects India because it does not allow cold north winds to come in India. ... The Himalayas act as the "barrier for the monsoon winds" from entering into Tibet. These Himalayas act as the hindrance for the "north east monsoon winds" from blowing into the Indian sub-continent.

Explanation:

The Himalayans have acted as a natural boundary and protected our country from foreign invasions. Throughout history, foreign invadors never entered India from the northern side.

Besides, they prevent the cold air of central Asia from entering into India. Had there been no Himalayas, the whole of India would have been a desert in the absence of precipitation and its winters would have been very severe under the influence of cold wind coming from Central Asia.
