The Himalayas act as a naturalbarrier between two climaticregions, India and Central Asia. The Himalayas prevent the cold and dry winds of Central Asia from entering into India. TheHimalayas also act as physicalbarrier for rain bearing south-west monsoon winds to cross the northern frontiers of India.
