Let the present age of Hina be x years.

Let the present age of Chirag be y years.

As per the first condition,

• Hina is 15 years older than Chirag

Let's represent this condition mathematically to get our first equation,

x = y + 15

x - y = 15 ----> 1

As per the second condition,

• 10 years ago he was four times Chirag age

10 years ago,

Hina's age = x - 10 years

Chirag's age = y - 10 years

Let's represent this too mathematically to get our second equation,

x - 10 = 4 ( y - 10)

x - 10 = 4y - 40

x - 4y = - 40 + 10

x - 4y = - 30 -----> 2

Subtract equation 1 from 2 and solve them simultaneously by elimination method.
