Adjectives (विशेषण)


Adjectives are those words which describe the nouns. There are very few or slight differences between English adjective and Hindi adjectives. One of the major difference compared to Hindi Adjectives is that English adjectives does not modify themselves for the noun.

(किसी भी संज्ञा अथवा उसके शब्द की विशेषता बतलाता है उसे विशेषण कहते है।)

For Example:
Building is very big (मकान बहुत बड़ा है। ) - Makan bhut bada hai
Rohan is very tall (रोहन बहुत लंबा है। ) - Rohan bhut lamba hai.
Dress is very beautiful (ड्रेस बहुत सुंदर है।) - Dress bhut sundar hai.

There are 4 types of Adjectives in Hindi (विशेषण चार प्रकार के होते है।) 

1) Qualitative Adjective (गुणवाचक विशेषण ) - Gunvachak Vsheshan
2) Qualitative Adjective (परिमाणवाचक विशेषण) - Parimaanvachak Visheshan.
3) Numerals Adjective (संख्यावाचक विशेषण) - Sankhayavachak visheshan
4) Demonstrative Adjectives (सर्वनामिक विशेषण ) - Sarvanamik Visheshan
