Answer:

There are many types of formal letters (Aupchaarik Patra) in Hindi, like shikaayat patra, praarthna/nivedan patra, etc. But there is a common format to write all the formal letters, which is as follows:

Sender’s address

(leave a line)

Date (just write the date, don’t put a headinng like dinaank or tithi)

(leave a line)

Seva Me,

The post of the person you’re writing the letter to, like- Pradhaanaachary(a) or Prabandhak or Sampaadak, etc.

Receiver's address , like- ABC Vidyaalaya XYZ Road Kanpur or 1/45 DEF Building, PQR Road, Delhi, etc.

(leave a line)

Vishay- (subject f writing like- Avkaash Praapti hetu praarthna patra or Police stations me badhti akarmanyata ke sandarbh me shikaayat patra)

(leave a line)

Mahoday/Mahodaya

(precise body)

Bhavdeey/Bhavdeeya/Praartheey/Praarthneeyaa

(your beautiful name in the next line)

For informal:

Sender’s adress

(LEAVE A LINE)

Date

Salutation like Priya mitra, Aadarneey Pitaji etc.

Greetings like Saprem Namaste, Saadar charansparsh, etc.

Body ( 1st para: ask about haal chaal and well being of the receiver, and then assure them of your well being in short. other paragraphs are about anything you would wnt to say and in last para it goes something like “ghar par sabhi ko mera namaskaar kehna/ tumhare patra ki prateekha me, etc.)

Tumhara/tumhari/aapka/aapki mitra/saheli/putri/putr/pita/maa/bhai/behen/whatever (eg: tumhari saheli)

(your pretty name in the next line)

Hope it helps. If you’re looking for format of a certain type of (formal) letter (only the language changes, there are a few tips for it as well), please specify :)
