Hinduism experienced its greatest growth during the Gupta empire. Gupta rulers were equally tolerant towards Buddhism and Jainism.

Predominantly all the kings in the Gupta dynasty were Hindus. They recited Sanskrit mantras and performed yagnas and other worship suggested by their Brahmin priests.

They constructed magnificent temples of Hindu gods and were responsible for the beginning of Shakti Cult. This led to worship of female god’s along with male gods.

Hinduism grew to its best during the Gupta Empire.

This ancient empire existed from 240 to 590 CE.

It covered most of the Indian Subcontinent and it is referred to as the Golden Age of India.

Especially the reign of Chandragupta Maurya was the time when Hinduism grew to a great extent.
