4x + 12y= -8
divide by x + 3y =-2
3x - 5y=8
solve equations
eq. 1 x 3 = 3x + 9y = -6
3x - 5y = 8
14y = -14
y= -1
substitute the value of y in one equation
3x + 9 x -1 = -6
3x - 9 = -6
3x=-6 + 9
3x=3
x=1
divide by x + 3y =-2
3x - 5y=8
solve equations
eq. 1 x 3 = 3x + 9y = -6
3x - 5y = 8
14y = -14
y= -1
substitute the value of y in one equation
3x + 9 x -1 = -6
3x - 9 = -6
3x=-6 + 9
3x=3
x=1
