Article 1. This Law is of general observance throughout the Republic and governs the labor relations included in Article 123, Section "A", of the Constitution.

Article 2. Labor standards tend to achieve a balance between the factors of production and social justice, as well as to promote decent or decent work in all labor relations.

 

Dignified or decent work is understood to be that in which the human dignity of the worker is fully respected; there is no discrimination based on ethnic or national origin, gender, age, disability, social condition, health conditions, religion, immigration status, opinions, sexual preferences or marital status; you have access to social security and receive a remunerative salary; continuous training is received to increase productivity with shared benefits, and optimal safety and hygiene conditions are in place to prevent work risks.
