First of all.....find out the object in the given sentence....
In the above sentence the object is HIM which is normally a subject.. ..
Place the object first in passive voice ...then find the tense of the given verb...
In the above sentence, the verb TOOK is in past tense ......so we should use was + v3 if singular , were + v3 if plural ....HE is singular so we can use the helping verb was...+ V3 ......
