1)Cost Price of 1 apple = Rs 75 ÷ 10 = Rs 7.50

Selling Price of 1 apple = Rs 75 ÷ 12 = Rs 6.25

Loss = Rs 7.50 - Rs 6.25 = Rs 1.25

Percentage loss = 1.25/7.5 x 100 = 16.67% (nearest hundredth)

Answer: 16.67%

2)CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15=> Profit = 28/15

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15=> Profit = 28/15So Profit for 1 egg = 28/15 then Profit for x eggs = 168

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15=> Profit = 28/15So Profit for 1 egg = 28/15 then Profit for x eggs = 168=> 1 : 28/15 :: x : 168

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15=> Profit = 28/15So Profit for 1 egg = 28/15 then Profit for x eggs = 168=> 1 : 28/15 :: x : 168=> 168 = 28x / 15

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15=> Profit = 28/15So Profit for 1 egg = 28/15 then Profit for x eggs = 168=> 1 : 28/15 :: x : 168=> 168 = 28x / 15=> x = 168 * 15 / 28

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15=> Profit = 28/15So Profit for 1 egg = 28/15 then Profit for x eggs = 168=> 1 : 28/15 :: x : 168=> 168 = 28x / 15=> x = 168 * 15 / 28=> x = 90

CP of 3 eggs = Rs. 16=> CP of 1 egg = Rs. 16/3SP of 5 eggs = Rs. 36=> SP of 1 egg = Rs. 36/5Therefore profit gained for one egg = 36/5 - 16/3=> Profit = 36 ( 3 ) - 16 ( 5 ) / 15=> Profit = 108 - 80 / 15=> Profit = 28/15So Profit for 1 egg = 28/15 then Profit for x eggs = 168=> 1 : 28/15 :: x : 168=> 168 = 28x / 15=> x = 168 * 15 / 28=> x = 90Hence the number of eggs he purchased was 90.
