Histoblasts are produced from archeocyte.

  • A Histobast is a cell or group of cells that are capable of forming a tissue.
  • Archeocytes are the cells found in sponges, that help in their functioning.
  • Thesocytes undergo mitosis within the gemmula coat as germination  or the hatching from gemmule starts and they become either archeocytes or histoblasts.
  • Then histoblasts and archeocytes migrate out of the coat of gemmules
