All larger vessels have the same general structure, which can vary depending on their location and function (i.e., from inside to outside). The histolofy of arteries:

1. The tunica intima ( the ‘intima’ or ‘interna’)

2. The tunica media (the ‘media’ or ‘muscularis’)

3. The tunica externa adventitia (the ‘adventitia’)
