Historical monuments and temples are badly damaged due to corrosive action of acid rain.   Acid rain has devastating effects on the monuments made up of limestone or marble.   It leads to chemical reactions which can dissolve limestone or marble and permanently damage the monument or temple.   Acid rain is one of the most harmful ways of pollution.
