The key difference between the Vedic age and the Harappan civilization is that the Harappan civilization was between 3000-1700 BCE which was the time of bronze age while the Vedic age began in 1500 BCE till 500 BCE which was the iron age.

Below are several differences between the Vedic age and Harappan civilization-

1. The sources of information about the Harappan civilization are mainly archaeological, while the Vedic culture is mostly known from the literary sources.

2. Harappans are said to be the original inhabitants of India while the Aryans who started the Vedic age migrated from central asia.

3. The Harappan civilization was urban in nature while the Vedic cukture was rural and pastoral. The Rig Vedic Aryans lived in fortified places covered by mud walls; and these cannot be regarded as towns in Harappan sense.
