The history of Computers began in the 19th Century, when Charles Babbage designed the analytical engine.  

1.The First Generation ( (1943-1958):here vacuum tubes were used as the internal parts of the computers.

2.The Second Generation (1959-1964):here vacuum tubes were replaced by the transistors.

3.The Third Generation (1965-1970): here the first integrated circuit (IC) was developed.

4.The Fourth Generation (1971-present):here 4GL’s have come into existence.

5.The Fifth Generation (the future): here these may incorporate the features of Artificial Intelligence, Expert Systems, and Natural Language.
