History of Mahatma Gandhi:

Mahatma Gandhi is known as the father of the nation was a true freedom fighter of India. His name was Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi and he was born on 2nd October 1869 in Porbandar, Gujarat. His father's name was Karamchand Gandhi and mother’s name was Putlidevi. He married Kasturba Gandhi at a age of 13 years and has four children.

Mahatma Gandhi was a simple loving person. His whole family believes in simple living and high thinking. They all are true vegetarians. Mahatma Gandhi has joined the Indian national congress party and has introduced so many better rules and policies inside the party and in India.

Mahatma Gandhi played an important roles in all of the following movements which are as follows: World war 1, Champaran agitations, kheda agitations, Khilafat movement, Non –cooperation movement, Salt Satyagarah, Round table conferences, world war 2 and quit India movement etc.

Gandhi only believed in non violence movements and has initiated various movements like Satyagarah , quit India Movement , the salt march to throw out Britishers from the Indian land. In 1942, Mahatma Gandhi has started Quit India movement which proved to be a major setback for the Britishers.

This movement has influenced a lot many youths and people that they all together were fighting for the freedom of India. He was killed by Nathuram Godse on 30th January 1948 in Delhi. Mahatma Gandhi has influenced a large number of masses. People used to follow him due to his nonviolence methods and strategies.

He was a scholar and a lawyer but left everything behind to free India from the Britishers. People used to respect him until now and we have printed his photo on the Indian currency to give him a tribute. 2nd October has been declared the national holiday in the name of Mahatma Gandhi to celebrate his Jayanti.
