Explanation:

A student in Paris, Romanian Petrache Poenaru invented a fountain pen that used a quill as an ink reservoir. The French Government patented this in May 1827. Fountain pen patents and production then increased in the 1850s. The first patent on a ballpoint pen was issued on October 30, 1888, to John J Loud.

The need for a pen developed as humans discovered papyrus. To write on papyrus and parchment, the Egyptians created the reed pen. They used hollow tubular marsh grass, especially bamboo as the body of the pen. One end of the tube was sharpened into the shape of a pen's nib and the tube was filled with writing fluid.

It is to this ball that the ball-point pen owes its name. When the pen moves across the surface of a paper, the ball rotates. In the process, the side of the ball which is in contact with the ink touches the paper, leaving the ink mark.

what was the pen made of?? Ink is as old as pen and maybe even older. Chinese knew about ink in 23rd century BC. They made plant, animal, and mineral inks and used it for painting on silk and paper. The best ink they used was made from pine sap made from trees that were between 50 and 100 years old..
