pythagoras theorem is a name derived from a greek mathematician philosopher "pythagoras"

according to him the law says that in a right triangle the sum of square of two sides is equal to the third side( or Hypotenuse) square i.e.,

 {hypo.}^{2}  =  {one \: side}^{2}  +  {other \: side}^{2}

or,

 {h}^{2}  =  {p}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}

here,
h= Hypotenuse of triangle
b= base of triangle
p= perpendicular( altitude or height ) of triangle

hope this help u buddy.......:)

Answer:

Here's your answer mate......

Step-by-step explanation:

The Pythagoras Theorem got its name from a famous Greek mathematician philosopher ‘Pythagoras’ who is also said to discover this theorem in 500BC. He says that the sum of the square of the two sides is equal to the square of hypotenuse:

^2+^2= ^2

Here a and b are the are the 2 legs of the right angle triangle whereas c is the hypotenuse of it.

But the Pythagoras Theorem was discovered earlier than 500BC. The Babylonians as well as the Chinese civilizations too used it, more than 4000 years ago.
