Ganga is formed by confluence of two rivers Alaknanda and Baghirithi.The waters of the Alakananda are formed by snowmelt from peaks such as Nanda devi, Trishul and Kamet.while waters of Bhaghiriti rises from gangotri glacier, at Gomukh.
