Socialism:

(1) No private property ownership, all property is owned by the community or state
(2) No private ownership of the means of production, all means of production is owned by the community or state
(3) “…each according to his needs, each according to his ability…”
(4) “….you will want for nothing, except only to work…”
(5) Socialism is the transitionary state between capitalism and communism.

There is no socialism in europe there are so called socialist parties but when they get into government instead of advocating a change of society they just end up trying to run Capitalism which usually ends up with disastrous results as Capitalism cannot run in the interest of the majority. The Socialist Party of Great Britain and its companion parties advocates the establishment of a system of society based upon the common ownership and democratic control of the means and instruments for producing and distributing wealth by and in the interest of the whole community, this can only come about when the majority of the worlds workers understand and want it regards ian.

In the last third of the 19th century, social democratic parties arose in Europe, drawing mainly from Marxism. ... By 1968, the prolonged Vietnam War (1959–1975) gave rise to the New Left, socialists who tended to be critical of the Soviet Union and social democracy.
