Hitler captured France immediately before he planned to attack Russia.
He was sure that he will not face any obstruction from Europe while attacking Russia as Britain was neutral and France was conquered by Germany already.
He attacked Russia but the war strategy of Russia and the terrific chill of Russia in winter ruined his plan of capturing the country.
