HIV and Hepatitis B are sexually transmitted diseases but they can also be transferred to a healthy person through other methods which are:

● transfusion of blood from an infected person to a healthy person

● using infected needles and syringes for injecting a healthy person

● these can also be transmitted from an infected mother to an Unborn child in the womb of the mother.

● these can also spread through the use of improperly sterilized medical or Dental Equipments.

HIV and hepatitis B are blood borne diseases which are generally transmitted through sexual contacts or through Blood transfusions but a common myths basically in Indian society is that these are caused only through unprotected sex or sexual intercourse. The reasons listed above are the causes of transmission of HIV and Hepatitis B.
