Explanation: The kidneys are most important organs of our excretory system .A pair of bean shaped kidney is situated towards the backside of our body (one kidney on each side of our backbone) just above the waist . The function of kidney is removal of nitrogenous waste urea from blood and make urine. A section of kidneys shows that each kidney has large number of excretory units called nephrons Actually blood is filtered to produce urine in these nephrons only. therefore nephrons are functional unit of kidney .
