We know,

The Pythagoras theorem states that

(Hypotenuse)^2 = (side1)^2 + (side2)^2

So let us assume the perpendicular distance as side 1 & base as side 2...

Given - Hypotenuse = 25 cm

side 1 = 7cm

Now we need to find ,

side 2 = ?

Using Pythagoras thm,

(25)^2 = (7)^2 + (S2)^2

•°• 625 = 49 + (S2)^2

•°• (S2)^2 = 625 - 49

•°• S2 = √576

° S2 = 24 cm

Hence the value of the Side 2 or the base is 24 cm...
