So, angle A + angle C =180

thus, 2x + 10 + y - 50 =180

2x + y - 40 = 180

2x + y = 180 + 40

Similarly, angle B + angle D = 180

x + 20 + y - 10 = 180

x + y + 10 = 180

x + y = 180 - 10

x + y = 170......................(2)

Then, subtract eq(2) from (1)

2x + y = 220

x + y = 170

50 + y = 170

y = 170 - 50
