Answer:

Resonance, An object free to vibrate tends to do so at a specific rate called the object's natural, or resonant, frequency. Such an object will vibrate strongly when it is subjected to vibrations or regular impulses at a frequency equal to or very close to its natural frequency. This phenomenon is called resonance.

A classic example of resonance is the swinging of a person sitting on a swing. A swing is a very good example of an object in oscillating motion. But once when the swing reaches its natural frequency of oscillation, a gentle push to the swing helps it maintain that amplitude of swing all throughout due to resonance.
